Creative Writing Prompts

Creative Writing PromptsIf you are looking for a way to get a quick and easy boost of inspiration, creative writing prompts can provide you with some excellent ideas. They are a quick way to get your creative juices flowing and sometimes they will come about right in the middle of a monologue. Take a look at some examples below:'Writer's block - it happens to the best of us. Sometimes it doesn't seem to come for days or weeks on end and we wonder how in the world we're going to make our piece of work. The answer is simple. Just keep writing.'A popular idea for creative writing prompts is to write down a list of things that are going to be used in the piece. Something like, 'In this piece I am going to use ideas from the list.' Some writers will actually use the words or phrases in the list as their inspiration. Be sure to write down the things that you think are going to be used in the story so that you can work your creative juices to make them into words.'Call me by name- I want to know your name.' This one is so funny because it's exactly what you would ask for if you were at an opera or the theater and didn't have a clue who was in front of you. The idea behind it is that the audience will take some interest in you and they will follow your every move, no matter what time of day it is. Another great part about it is that you can write down the name you want to use for your character as you are writing.'Group together; who would benefit from the event?' A very good example for writing prompts is 'Who would benefit from the incident?' You could also use groups that could benefit from the incident and you can ask yourself this question during brainstorming sessions.'I wish to draw your attention to this problem.' It's so easy to describe a problem, just as long as you come up with a solution to a problem you are good to go.'What if you could create a happy ending to this situation?' If you can come up with a plan to solve this problem then you've got a creativ e writing prompt for you! These are just a few examples of creative writing prompts that you can use. While the examples above may seem silly, it's important to remember that they are just samples and there are plenty of other ideas that can help you. It's also a good idea to write down the kind of situations that are important to you and write down the words that you think are going to fit those situations.
